FOPV (Featured Offer Page Views)

Amazon & D2C glossary · Harpy Media

FOPV (Featured Offer Page Views) counts detail-page views that happened while your product was actually holding the Featured Offer — the cart-winning placement. Formerly known on the vendor side as “Glance Views,” it’s the cleanest measure of shopping attention you could actually sell to.

What is FOPV?

FOPV (Featured Offer Page Views) counts detail-page views that happened while your product was actually holding the Featured Offer — the cart-winning placement. Formerly known on the vendor side as “Glance Views,” it’s the cleanest measure of shopping attention you could actually sell to.

The distinction from raw page views is the point: a page viewed while a competitor holds the offer is traffic someone else monetised. FOPV strips that out, so the number you’re left with is attention that belonged to you — which makes it the honest denominator for conversion math on shared listings.

Why the refined number matters

Three uses. Honest conversion: on competitive pages, raw views overstate your funnel — dividing orders by FOPV shows how well you convert the traffic you truly owned. Visibility diagnosis: FOPV falling while total page views hold means someone else is winning the offer more often — a pricing or inventory alarm, not a traffic problem, and precisely the kind of misdiagnosis the raw number causes. Price-and-promo evaluation: when you test a price move or coupon, FOPV (with box-hold share) tells you whether you gained attention or merely rotated it — metrics that matter for multi-seller listings especially, where the cart can change hands hour by hour.

Reading FOPV in your reports

Where it lives: Vendor Central analytics surfaces it directly in retail dashboards; sellers reconstruct an equivalent by tracking Featured Offer/Buy Box percentage alongside session counts. The pairings that make it actionable: FOPV with conversion (did the owned attention convert?), FOPV with buy-box share (are we losing attention to competing offers?), and FOPV with ad spend (are we paying for clicks on pages whose carts we don’t hold — an efficiency leak worth catching early). The habit that makes any of it work: put both numbers on one chart — views and owned views — so divergence becomes visible the week it starts, not the quarter it hurts.

Owned intent: orders ÷ FOPV (your true conversion)  ·  Attention leak: total page views − FOPV = views monetised by someone elseTraffic is the headline; FOPV is the part of it that was actually yours.

In practice

A vendor sees total page views climbing 18% in a quarter and celebrates — until FOPV is put beside them and has been flat, then falling. The growth is real but unowned: a competing seller has been winning the offer more often, and the vendor’s rising raw views were partly views of its own weakened position. Pricing review and a stock-position fix restore box share; FOPV turns back up, and the orders follow within weeks.

⚠️ Watch out. A team manages traffic dashboards that never distinguish owned views — so a gradual loss of Featured Offer share hides inside a “busy” page, and the fix gets aimed at traffic (more ads!) instead of the actual leak (winning the cart back). More ad spend pouring into pages you don’t own is the most expensive form of confusion.
💡 Harpy tip. Chart total views and FOPV on the same page, same axes. The gap between them is a number with a name: someone else’s revenue on your listing.

How Harpy Media helps

Cart-ownership analytics — FOPV-style owned attention versus raw traffic — is how we catch pricing and offer problems before they show up as ‘unexplained’ revenue dips.

FOPV FAQ

What is FOPV?

Featured Offer Page Views — page views that occurred while your offer held the Featured Offer/Buy Box; formerly ‘Glance Views’.

How is FOPV different from total page views?

Total views count every visit; FOPV counts only visits you could actually sell to — the difference is attention monetised by other sellers.

Why track it?

Because orders ÷ FOPV is your honest conversion on competitive listings, and FOPV falls flag offer/pricing problems that raw traffic hides.
